Canvas of Life"Canvas of life" is 3rd series which Sumi discusses about Bangkok's landscape, after Densen Plus α, 2012( Electric wire), and Under Construction, 2013. The work was exhibited as a part of Hotel Asia Project
As Sumi often uses various mix media, he uses Virtual Reality device in this "Real Estate" exhibition to let audience participate interactive experience in the VR space.
In his new work, He creates photomontage in virtual reality space with the symbolic urban condominium advertisement photos of new urban development and Graffiti photos which is dystopian resistant and abandoned and survival life style of slams.
Sumi explored to reconstruct the pendulum of different spaces which occur in the urban development.
He captures the Bangkok's new life style through the process of old cityscape's demolition and new construction, advertisement of real estate, and iconic yet rebelious graffiti, and so on. A Japanese subtitle "儚花" means "Ephemeral Flower", which describe the fleeting scenary of unresting landscape.
