Chinatowns

Chinatowns
Chinatowns is a photographic installation composed of images taken in Chinatowns around the world. The photographs were collected through an open call for this exhibition, inviting contributors from different countries to submit their own images of Chinatown districts. The participating photographs include locations such as Paris, Singapore, Tokyo, Taipei, New York, San Francisco, Manila, Bangkok, and others.
The photographs were arranged according to the geographical locations of each city and installed in a 360-degree display throughout the gallery space, creating an immersive visual map of global Chinatowns. The installation highlights both the shared cultural identity and the diverse urban contexts in which these communities exist.
In this project, Eiji Sumi served as the art director of the exhibition and also participated as one of the photographers.
